It was estimated by PRIMIR that the global printing industry in 2005 was about 586 billion US dollars, and would increase about 6% in 2006. The North America area is up to 198 billion US dollars, accounting for over one third in the global market. It was estimated that the printing market in USA was up to 177 billion US dollars, accounting for 30% of the printing industry of the world. The America was also keeping an increasing tendency in printing industry, and was estimated to have an increasing rate of 2.8% in 2005-2006. Western Europe is the second biggest printing market in the world, the gross income in 2006 is 175 billion US dollars; Asia is the second with 166 billion US dollars.
With its swift and violent development, it was estimated that China’s printing industry would keep increasing at 15% per year in 2006, the same with the past five years. It was estimated that the gross income of China printing industry in 2006 is up to 41 billion US dollars, is the third biggest market only after USA and Japan and keep ahead than Germany and UK.
Digital printing and wide-format output are the most-developed printing process in all over the world. It was estimated that digital printing in 2006 would increase 19% than the year 2005, while wide-format output increased about 12% than last year. According to NAPL data, digital printing will increase about 20% during the year 2004-2008, while wide-format digital printing will increase 31.5%. In Asia, the estimated increasing of digital printing is near 13% in the year 2005-2006, and the increasing of digital output is also over 11%.
As a biggest self-help section in printing industry, the sales volume of packaging industry was estimated to be 173 billion US dollars and the total sales volume of packaging market was up to 200 billion US dollars if added label production section. |
